Since I presume you don’t want the official author bio, I’ll attempt something more personal here.
Most of the time, I have no problem being alone. Books have been my companions since I was a small child, or so it seems. Myers Briggs personality test calls me an “I”, which means, though I like people and being around them, doing so drains me.
So a profession as a writer is a natural choice—I don’t have to spend my energy going to an office so I can spend my energy being with my friends, my readers, my family.
Sadly, I don’t live near my family. At present, my husband and I are in a far-flung town in Texas. That is supposed to change soon. We’ve had to move a great deal due to my husband’s job, so, again, a profession as a writer is a blessing. It also helps me to meet people I wouldn’t otherwise be able to do.
For fun, I love watching movies with my husband—or anyone else around—trying different kinds of foods, and going for walks. The weather here is so hot I’ve exchanged walking for swimming, which I also love, though prefer the sea or a lake to a pool. I love being on the beach or a boat.
When young widow Lydia Gale helps a French prisoner obtain parole, she never dreams she will see him again. But just as the London Season gets under way, the man presents himself in her parlor. While she should be focused on getting her headstrong younger sister prepared for her entrée into Society, Lady Gale finds herself preoccupied with the mysterious Frenchman. Is he a spy or a suitor? Can she trust him? Or is she putting herself and her family in danger?
What is something the average reader wouldn't know about you?
I’m quite shy in person.
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I was probably about ten-years-old. I was already writing poetry and making up stories in my head.
How many books have you written/published and do you have a favorite?
At the moment, I have nine books in print, three more written and awaiting their release dates, and another one in progress. So far, Heart’s Safe Passage is probably my favorite.
What would you say is your most interesting writing quirk?
My most interesting writing quirk is that I really don’t have any writing quirks. I can write pretty much anywhere at any time, though I prefer quiet and early morning.
Where do you like to write?
I love to write in coffee shops.
What is the best and/or worst part about being a writer?
The best part is being able to keep my own schedule during the day and not having to dress up. The worst part is not having a set schedule and having to dress up. That lack of schedule can make a body a little undisciplined and deluded into thinking she has all the time in the world to meet a deadline.
What do you like to do when you're not writing?
I love watching movies with my husband, hiking, though I have little opportunity for that nowadays, and meeting people. Yes, the latter is odd for a shy person, but if someone else talks to me first, I’m all right.
Is there a place you’d like to visit, but haven’t yet?
Several. Venice, Athens, Scotland, Cornwall. . .
Do you have a favorite song and/or movie?
Again, I have to say several. What I consider favorite depends on the mood I’m in at the time. I like intense music, and the genre doesn’t particularly matter. For movies, I love romantic ones most of all, though a few others grab me again and again.
What is your favorite dessert?
Chocolate mousse cake, though I haven’t seen it on a menu in a long time, alas.
Do you have a favorite Bible verse?Romans 8:37 “For we are more than conquerors” and on through 39.

Are you currently working on any new novels? If so, could you give us a hint?At present, I am writing the third book in the Daughters of Bainbridge House series. The heroine, Honore, is the headstrong youngest sister mentioned in the blurb for A Necessary Deception. A Flight of Fancy, the middle and nerdy sister’s story, comes out this coming October.
