Darker Still by Leanna Renee Hieber

I was obsessed. 

It was as if he called to me, demanding I reach out and touch the brushstrokes of color swirled onto the canvas. It was the most exquisite portrait I'd ever seen--everything about Lord Denbury was unbelievable...utterly breathtaking and eerily lifelike. 

There was a reason for that. Because despite what everyone said, Denbury never had committed suicide. He was alive. Trapped within his golden frame. 

I've crossed over into his world within the painting, and I've seen what dreams haunt him. They haunt me too. He and I are inextricably linked--bound together to watch the darkness seeping through the gas-lit cobblestone streets of Manhattan. Unless I can free him soon, things will only get Darker Still.

I've had this one for quite sometime. I actually won a copy of it. But I got my Nook for Christmas and this happened to be a very good price so I bought myself a copy. Maybe it will get read faster as an e-book? Only one way to find out!

Yes, I know this officially makes me a bad person for not reading this book. Like with so many others on my shelf, the only reason I haven't read this one is purely about time. Truth be told, I'm hearing so many good things about this one and it's sequel that I'm the tiniest bit scared. What if it can't live up to my expectations? Eep! But I will get to this one in 2013. I've decided it will be my treat for finishing the second rewrite on my current WIP.

The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson

The day Louisiana teenager Rory Deveaux arrives in London, it's the start of a new life at a boarding school. But for many, this will be remembered as the day a series of brutal murders broke out across the city, gruesome crimes mimicking the horrific Jack the Ripper events of more than a century ago.

This is another novel I know I need to get to because so many people read it and loved it. I saw it on some top 10 lists for favorite novels of last year so I know it's going to be great.

It stinks that I haven't read this book or it's sequel yet because so many people love this series. I've only heard good things and this is a book I was really anticipating. I'm practically ready to propose marriage to the cover so it's definitely something I need to pick up soon.

The Alchemy of Forever by Avery Williams

Seraphina has been alive since the Middle Ages, when her boyfriend, Cyrus, managed to perfect a method of alchemy that lets them swap bodies with any human being. Sera ran away from Cyrus years ago, when she realized that what they were doing--taking the lives of innocent people--was wrong. She doesn't want to die, so she finds young people who are on the brink of death, and inhabits their bodies.

Not only does this novel sound fabulous but it's a tiny little thing too. I have no doubt that when I have time to get to it, I'm really going to enjoy it. I love the concept and I think it's going to be one heck of a thriller!

The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann

In Artime, each child is taught to cultivate their creative abilities and learn how to use them magically, weaving spells through paintbrushes and musical instruments. Everything Alex has ever known changes before his eyes, and it's a wondrous transformation. 

But it's a rare, unique occurence for twins to be separated between Wanted and Unwanted, and as Alex and Aaron's bond stretches across their separation, a threat arises for the survival of Artime that will pit brother against brother in an ultimate, magical battle.

I really enjoy Lisa McMann's novels and this looks so different than everything else she's done recently. I just think the concept sounds creative and even though I'm not a fan of MG, I've got to give this one a try. Like always, I just haven't found time to get to it yet.

Beckett Rush, teen heartthrob and Hollywood bad boy, is flying to Ireland to finish filming his latest vampire movie. On the flight, he meets Finley. She's the one girl who seems immune to his charm. Undeterred, Beckett convinces her to be his assistant in exchange for his help as a tour guide. 

Once in Ireland, Finley starts to break down. The loss of her brother and the pressure of school, her audition, and whatever it is that is happening between her and Beckett, leads her to a new and dangerous vice. When is God going to show up for her in this emerald paradise? 

Then she experiences something that radically changes her perspective on life. Could it be God convincing her that everything she's been looking for has been with her all along?

Of course, this is another case of so little time and so many wonderful books. I read some very glowing reviews on this one though and need to get to it since my biggest love is Ireland. I've always wanted to go there so a book set in Ireland would be perfect for me. Can't wait to find the time!

 I always thought this book looked so cool and fresh. I haven't gotten a chance to read it because I've only gotten to read ARCs lately (and my tbr pile is huge) but this is still one that looks really good to me. Plus, I love that it's guy friendly. Still one I'm waiting to read!

Warm Bodies by Issac Marion

I picked this novel up while I was at YAllfest because the author was supposed to be there. He never showed (plane delays I think) but I still got the book. I'd see it around a lot and also heard it was being turned into a movie. So I snagged myself a copy. I will read this one before the movie comes out, I just need to have the time.

Since I read Across the Universe at the beginning of last year, I've still been reeling on this epic sci-fi kick and I really think Glow will satisfy this. I've been hearing mixed reviews up this one but with the second novel coming out in a while, I hope to get to this one soon!

Frost by Marianna Baer

I bought this novel for Halloween because it sounds like the perfect spooky Halloween read. I didn't hear too many things about it but from what I did hear, it's a good book. Like always with me, it's more of a time thing than anything else.

Warped by Maurissa Guibord

This really bums me out that I haven't had the time to read this novel. I mean, seriously, this reminds me of Beauty and the Beast (for some reason) and I love that story. Plus, I've heard a few really good things about it and feel like it's one of those under appreciated books. I really need to get to it.

I feel like I repeat myself a lot here but again, the main reason I haven't read this one is time constraints. I've got a tbr pile that's out of control and this is just one of the novels in it. Shame really because I've heard this series is a lot of fun and I know at one point it was picked up to be made into a movie with Drew Barrymore attached to it.

As always with me, this is just a time constraint. It stinks because I've heard nothing but amazing things about this book and I really want to get to it. I love the unique concept and I've heard Charlotte and Harlin's relationship is amazing. Can't wait!
